Bikinis - Good vs. Bad
By Kevin Scarborough of Two Coconuts Custom Swimwear
Okay, lets get real here. A bikini from Tarjet is the same as a bikini a high end store or custom boutique. Right!? No way! Most swimwear is mass produced using fabrics that fade, and the elastic is just rubber bands. They are only made like everyhing else, to wear out quickly so you have to buy a new one every year! Try taking one of your old V.S. swimsuits and take it apart. Almost always made with rubber bands that break down quickly is salt water or in chlorinated pool water. Why do you think there are so many diclaimer tags on the swimsuits we buy these days. So you can't complain and/or return the suit. Even the thread and stiches used are done in a way to save the manufacturer money and keep costs low. The average cost of a buyer from one of the big stores and houses like V.S. is anywhere from $2-$8!! So when they are selling you a suit at a clearance price of say $19, they are still making %200-%300 on you! Have you ever compared suits side by side to see the difference? Higher end suits have better, latex free elastic that is salt water and chlorine safe. The fabrics are dye set and heavier weight, and the stiching and threads are better and more durable. These suits will last many years and provide a long lasting fit. The old saying "You get what you pay for" is definately true here. |
